MISSIONS

Welcome to Grace Bible Fellowship Missions. We are committed to the building of disciples within the church, our local community, our nation and around the world. Mission work begins with prayer. It is supplemented and finds its direction in the word of God. As our tangible outreach grows, we pray that you will be a partner with us however God leads you.

Our missions program is just getting started. If you have ideas or requests please email Pastor Brian or talk to a missions team member or an elder. We are looking for ways to build disciples locally and throughout the world. It starts with prayer. Would you join us by praying for the gospel to become powerful in the lives of people?

Below are examples of mission organizations that individual members of our congregation support!

News from Rhett and Stacy…

'Bout that time I reckon

And just like that our time in California is coming to an end now too. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were writing about leaving Wisconsin. So far the plan is to leave the first week of May. We’ve adopted a little bit of an “I’ll believe it when I see it attitude” toward travel lately, however as the deadline approaches it looks like it may actually play out that way! We need to clear only one more (small) hurdle before we have the green light to purchase tickets! We’ve been stocking up and packing the things that we won’t have ready access to over the next few years, and trying to remember which things we’re going to miss eating so we can add them to our final weeks’ menus. It’s crazy how fast the last year has flown by!

When we came to California, we were worried that the stricter Covid rules here would limit our activity, however, I’m pleased to report that we had many speaking opportunities while we were here and many of our friends and supporters were free for us to get together. It is a blast to be able to talk about Kovol and finding that people are interested hearing about it! It really doesn’t feel like “work”.

While many entertainment places were shut down, we were still able to spend hours of family time visiting parks and playgrounds with the kids. We also lived in an apartment complex with other missionary families, so our kids made some great friends here, with plenty of opportunities to play in “Kidsland” (the dirt patch between the two buildings), as well as the play structure in the backyard.

Soon enough though, the hard work will start up again. When we return to Kovol full time language study will begin anew for us. Since we only had about two weeks of official language study time, we’re essentially starting from scratch. However, our partners have done a lot of the ground work for us and we get to copy their homework! We are so grateful for everyone who has offered encouragement, prayers, and love to us as we’ve travelled around, it was such a blessing to our family to be made to feel like we belonged to so many church families. We are returning with full tanks, and are excited to see how the Lord has been working in Kovol over the past year!

New Babies!

The Stanleys have nearly doubled the female population of our church planting team in one fell swoop. What's more they went with the most British sounding names possible: Alice and Millie. For now they are occupied with the joys of twin newborns and they'll be taking the summer in England to get established. Once they're ready to return we'll have to hang three lights in the steeple as Revere never accounted for the possibility of helicopters.
